Zeki Yıldırım: “We Give What We Received From Nature Back to Nature”

Swiss Recovery Systems Turkey (SRST), which started production in Turkey, provides recycling of 300 kg of food waste in a short time as 24 hours using machines produced entirely with domestic resources.Stating that serious steps were taken to achieve the objectives of the Turkish economy, Zeki Yıldırım, the Chairman of the Board of SRST says that “With SRST project, we channel our strong human resources and know-how in line with domestic and national production strategies”.

Emphasizing that it is aimed to prevent the financial losses due to food waste in Turkey, Mr. Yıldırım reminds that “According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates, one-third of food production is wasted.

The food waste is considered to be around 1.3 billion tons. This amount is enough to feed 3 billion people. One of the five major themes of the United Nations ‘Zero Hunger’ campaign has been identified as minimizing food waste”.

PREVENTING WASTE IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR TURKEY

Stating that 16 million tons of organic waste is produced annually in Turkey, and half of it is estimated to be domestic food waste, Mr. Zeki Yıldırım says “Preventing waste and ensuring sustainable environmental management has great importance for Turkey.

In this context, our machine, which is our joint product and whose prototype is ready, brings national solutions within the framework of ‘Zero Waste’ project”. Saying that “It is humanity’s responsibility to restore this situation”, Mr. Yıldırım expresses that “Thanks to our recycling machines, we give what we received from nature back to nature”.

300 KG OF WASTE IS RECYCLED

Thanks to our recycling machine, which we realized using domestic resources, 300 kg of domestic waste is completely recycled and approximately 70-90 kg of fertilizer is produced. Also, water is obtained and 300 kg of garbage, generated due to domestic wastes, is completely recycled”

Stating that the cost of transportation and storage problems of the garbage has been eliminated by the project, Mr. Yıldırım said: “We give what we received from the soil back to the soil as water and fertilizer.”
